We had a fantastic 3 nights on Treasure – a Dehler 34 yacht. Cumberland Charter Yachts we’re fantastic with their organisation, communication and information in the lead up to our trip and once we arrived. We had a great briefing and sail guide lesson with Terry on our first day and then set off on our own. We had great weather and managed to do a little sailing on day 1, day 3 and on our return on day 4. This was our first bareboat experience with very little knowledge but we learnt a lot before and during our trip. A definite must do to see the fabulous Whitsunday Islands. 3 nights was a good taster but definitely could have had more 😀.”

This was may fourth trip to the Whitsundays. Usually rented cats but this time I decided on a monohull called “Treasure”. Hoping for some windy weather and that what we got. First three days we had 20 to 25 knot winds which was thrilling. Treasure is a great little boat in a strong breeze. Not having sailed a monohull of this size before we found it easy to handle and solid in a strong breeze. No equipment problems and great service from the Cumberland crew. My friend and I are 66 and 70 years of age with a few stiff joints and if we could handle her that anyone younger should have no problems. Another item of the Bucket list. Visited Long island and Border island for the first time. highly recommended, great views. Hopefully back again next year.
